@#$% You, Toshiba Satellite

Postby Aspen.Shiyan » Sat Jul 10, 2010 11:29 pm

So, at first, the Toshiba Satellite A305 sounded like a great laptop.... BUT OH WAS I FOOLED. Main problem: gorram disk drive doesn't work for shit.

I got some Instant Immersion software recently and everytime I clicked on a new word, it was like, "problem with your drivers. Problem with your drivers. Problem with your drivers." So I uninstalled the @#$%ing drivers and reinstalled them using the ones off the Toshiba website for the A305.

Now it won't read the disk AT ALL or my Sims discs which I was going to hop on so that I could make some bedroom stuffs for that other thread that's up here, but my drivers won't read any of my discs at all anymore.

You know what's weird? One of my roommates was just talking about how she had her Toshiba crap out after seven months. They sent a replacement and that crapped out in a day.

I have a Toshiba Satellite l505 and something else, and I actually like it a lot. I haven't had any issues with it. Now that I know you're having problems, I am a bit worried.

I really use it just for school though, usually. I did install burn out recently, but I may uninstall it now that I am worried. Definitely when my PC is fixed.

if you're not already having problems with your drivers, I wouldn't worry. Mine crapped out fairly early on and has been pretty sporadic up until this point. Most days I put a disc in and cross my fingers that maybe it'll work. Now I know that it just won't. At all. (headbang)

The day I got the computer, I installed windows 7 on it. That was about a year ago or so.

Have you tried using an ISO?

........no.

After uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers 20 times, I pretty much resorted to cursing at it. Computers eventually get intimidated, right?
